Founder of MaculaCare, Dr. Rosberger’s vision has been to provide state-of -the-art academic medical center care of retinal disease in a caring and comfortable private practice environment.

Dr. Daniel F. Rosberger is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing exclusively in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the retina, vitreous and macula since 1994.

A native New Yorker, Dr. Rosberger attended Hunter College Elementary School and Horace Mann High School. 

He was graduated from Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences where he was on the Dean’s List.  He received his medical degree (M.D.) from Cornell University Medical College with honors in all clinical clerkships and his doctorate (Ph.D.) from the Department of Immunology and Microbiology in the Medical Scientist Training Program at the Medical University of South Carolina.  Dr. Rosberger was elected to membership in the Medical Honor Society,  Alpha Omega Alpha, and the Scientific Honor Society, Sigma Xi. Dr. Rosberger completed an internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Ophthalmology at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Hospital for Special Surgery. He was chosen as Chief Resident his senior year. 

Dr. Rosberger completed advanced fellowship training in Medical Retina, Ocular Oncology, Ocular immunology, and state-of-the-art Vitreoretinal Surgery at Johns Hopkins University’s Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute.   While at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Rosberger received the highly prestigious Heed Foundation and Knapp Fellowships.  He is a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists.

Dr. Rosberger received his Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health where he was selected by faculty and colleagues to deliver the Valedictory Commencement Speech.

Dr. Rosberger has always been dedicated to teaching the next generation of ophthalmologists and retina specialists. He has served as the attending surgeon at Retina Clinics at Weill-Cornell, Johns Hopkins and Saint Vincent’s Medical Center and served as Program Director for Ophthalmology at Saint Vincent’s for nearly a decade. 

Dr. Rosberger has received numerous additional honors, grants and fellowships over the years.  He has published over fifty abstracts, articles and book chapters. He has lectured at Universities and Scientific Meetings across the country. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Rosberger has been involved in numerous industry, NIH, and private foundation research and pharmaceutical clinical trials involving the development of Avastin, Lucentis, Eylea, Vabysmo, Ozurdex, Jetrea and others.
